Cleaning Program at Manamaiju Temple
   Cleaning and awareness Program for the importance of healthy environment was held at Manamaju Temple on 13th June 2011 jointly organized by GPYC-Nepal and Nepal Rastriya Higher Secondary School. Volunteers and staffs of GPYC-Nepal together with teachers and students of Nepal Rastriya Higher Secondary School lent their helping hands to improve the quality of the historical temple by cleaning its premises. The aim of this event is to improve the temple premises as an environmental friendly place for the worshipers. Program President Mr. Rabindra Silakar instilled to all locals and volunteers that such type of activity is necessary and laudable for the nation. Mr. Rajesh Khakurel coordinated the program.
World Environment Day Celebrated in Pokhara
5th June, 2011.   Tree Plantation program was held at Shree Amarjoti Secondary School Thaprek-3,Tanahun District .The program organized by Global Peace Youth Corps – Nepal (GPYC-Nepal) was held on the Occasion of  “World Environment Day” and participated by about Hundred students . GPYC Kaski District Project leader Mr. Anil Panday conducted core value class to students and followed by digging of soil. In order to conduct the program systematically, all students were divided into team: Green house, Red house, Yellow house, and white house. Finally, teachers and students planted three hundred saplings into the land approximately 1,200 square feet. Speaking at the program, Mr. Omkar Raj Khanal, Headmaster of the school, said “the approach of the program is very effective, those student who can take good care of the plant can be awarded with scholarship”.
"I Can Help Others" Project Forum
  29th May 2011.  GPYC volunteers discussed about “I Can Help Others” project. Volunteers talked about ways how to make a sustainable income through the project to support the education of less-fortunate students living in remote areas. On the basis of vermin-composting, the selling of fertilizer manure of the red earthworm, the project aim not only to produce a valuable source of income but also to help in reducing waste materials in the city through proper segregation and the use of  kitchen wastes as feeds for the worm. The volunteers will start to apply vermin-composting at their own respective places.  
"Hands for Orphans" Project Completed by GPYC Volunteers
  31st May 2011.  Educational and Sanitary materials were provided to the children of Mother (Aama) Orphanage home, Siffal, Kathmandu through the fund raised by the volunteers of GPYC students of National Orchid Boarding School (NOBS). Volunteers Ms. Srijana Bhandari, Rupa Prajapati and Akankcha Kunwar lend a hand to four girls and five boys of the orphanage home. They provided them with pencil, pen, notebook, brush, hair oil, shampoo, soap, comb, hair bond, and anti-mosquito liquid. The project “Hands for Orphan” was designed during the seminar on May 16th to 18th, 2011.  During the program, Mrs. Kabita Gurung, Managing Director of Aama Orphanage Home, felt happy for the assistance given to the orphans .The volunteers, Akanksha kunwar and her group determined to help and teach them more in the future. Meeting with United Nation Volunteer-Nepal
GPYC-Nepal and UNV-Nepal held a meeting at UNV office, Pulchok, Kathmandu on 31st May, 2011. During the meeting, representative of UNV Mr. Christian Simmelkiaer, Program officer of UNV and Mr. Kumar Khadka, International Youth Volunteer + 10 National coordinator, and Mr. Dhruba Prasad  Lamichhane, GPYC-Nepal President, discussed  the enhancement of Nepalese youth to volunteerism. At the meeting, Mr.Simmelkiaer appreciated the activities of GPYC .Both parties agreed to work together for any upcoming program.

Web Design Course

Starting From: 26th November 2016 (११ मङ्सिर २०७३) Day: Every Saturday Charges: Free of cost Time: 11:00am - 2;00pm Venue: GPYC Nepal, Hattigauda, Kathmandu, Nepal We’re living in a digital age and technology is reinventing the world. Hence learning to code is one of the smartest moves one can make in the present world (no matter what is the age). There is no such requirement to be a software engineer or a person who have degree in computer science to understand programming language. Anybody can code whether he/she is a student, accountant, doctor, actor or any other person. Nepcodemy in association with GPYC Nepal is organizing free web design course every Saturday starting from 26th November 2016 (११ मङ्सिर २०७३), 11:00am – 2:00pm at Hattigauda, Kathmandu, Nepal. At the end of the course one will understand HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap, Wordpress and will create own website. The main purpose of course is to encourage the youth to design the website of their own and make them stand in the frontier of new digital world. Quoting Steve Jobs ”Everybody in this country should learn to program a computer because it teaches you how to think”, we invite you to be part of our program for collaborative learning of programming skill.
