Leadership,Character Development,Environmental and Peace Vision Educational Seminar held at Kavre
A 3-Day Leadership, Character Development, Environmental and Peace Vision Educational Seminar was held on 10th to 12th November 2011. With the theme of “Moral, Innovative and Responsible Leadership are the Foundation for a Prosperous Nepal”, the seminar was attended by more than thirty participants. The workshop was an enlightening and inspiring moment for all the youths who took part in the 3-Day seminar consisting of various forms of presentations. They also had an experienced to practically apply the lecture topics in the class. Apparently, each group had to approach people in order to raise funds for a Library project. As a result, the whole group had collected a total amount of Two thousand seven hundred rupees (Rs 2,700) and 1,700 pieces of books .The seminar was jointly organized by the Government of Nepal Ministry of Local Development, GPA-Nepal,
Meeting with The Minister of Education
GPA and GPYC-Nepal leaders met with the Government of Nepal Honorable Minister of Education Mr. Dina Nath Sharma. The leaders congratulate the Hon’ble Minister for being appointed as the new Minister of Education. During the meeting, they discussed inclusive education and issues affecting students with special needs. They talked about the project of “Power of One Rupees” which was initiated by GPA-Nepal to help in eradicating illiteracy by supporting less-financially stable students. The meeting was held at the Minister’s office in Kaiser Mahal, Kathmandu on 9th November, 2011.The Minister showed interest for the development and success of the project.
Presentation Competition on the topic "The Role of Nepalese Youth to Uplift the Nation from Third World to First World"
Global Peace Youth Corps-Nepal (GPYC-Nepal) organized a presentation competition on the topic of “The Role of Nepalese Youth to Uplift the Nation from Third World to First World”. The competition was participated by three competitors of Martyr Ramnath Memorial College, Banasthali on 11th November, 2011. Judges Mr. Milan Paudel and Mr. Umesh Adhikari examined and rated the contents of Presentation in the most rational manner whereby the best presentation was awarded to Ms. Pratiba Panta. Additionally, Ms. Pramanda Poudel and Ms. Panisha Mishra received the second and third place, respectively. Speaking at the Program, Mr. Ram Prasad Poudel, Campus Chief of MRM College, appreciated the efforts made by the participants as well as the initiative project of GPYC to organize such program to create a healthy mind and develop the skills and knowledge of students in response to uplifting our own
GPV Committee Formed at Sunshine and Ha.Ma.Secondary School
Sunshine Boarding School and Ha. Ma. Secondary School got its Global Peace Committee .The committee formation was held on Tuesday, November 8, 2011. The GPV committee was formed under the guidance of GPYC School Level District coordinator Ms. Pabitra Lama.Ms.Lama presented an introduction of the activities and vision of GPYC. Around 50 students were present during the committee formation. The assembly elected five members each under the chairmanship of Ms. Subarna Lama and Mr. Sunil Kumar Pokharel of Sunshine B.S and Ha.Ma. S.S., respectively. All committee were very excited to take the roles and responsibilities of GPV as they believe that doing good works are respectable indeed. Class  Teachers of Ha. Ma .S.S. Mr. Krishna Prasad Bhattarai and Mr. Santosh Tandeya supported the vision and mission of GPYC as both of them encouraged  and explained to the students the important
GPYC 1-Day Service at Aama Ko Ghar Held
 Global Peace Volunteers enthusiastically gathered at GPYC office, Bansbari on 22nd October, 2011 and directly moved on to Aama Ko Ghar, Rabi Bhawan, Kathmandu. Aama Ko Ghar, registered as Old Age Management Social Welfare Trust, is currently sheltering twenty five old men and women, mostly are disabled. Aside from them, forty three children are now staying in and studying at different schools. The volunteers energetically cleaned the home, made it neat and tidy, most especially the room. They also prepared tea and served them with biscuits and some chocolates for the children. Mrs. Dil Sobha Shrestha, founder of Aama Ko Ghar, expressed her appreciation towards the day activities. “We must realize their suffering and should have the heart of helping them”, said Mrs. Shrestha. The volunteers felt the satisfaction and pleasure of using their time in serving others rather than wasting

Web Design Course

Hence learning to code is one of the smartest moves one can make in the present world (no matter what is the age). There is no such requirement to be a software engineer or a person who have degree in computer science to understand programming language. Anybody can code whether he/she is a student, accountant, doctor, actor or any other person. Nepcodemy in association with GPYC Nepal is organizing free web design course every Saturday starting from 26th November 2016 (११ मङ्सिर २०७३), 11:00am – 2:00pm at Hattigauda, Kathmandu, Nepal. At the end of the course one will understand HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap, Wordpress and will create own website. The main purpose of course is to encourage the youth to design the website of their own and make them stand in the frontier of new digital world. Quoting Steve Jobs ”Everybody in this country should learn to program a computer because it teaches you how to think”, we invite you to be part of our program for collaborative learning of programming skill.
