My MEMOIR of the place where I started growing - My GPYC-NEPAL by : Kripa Sigdel
It was November 2012, i first started my internship in Global Peace Youth Corps-Nepal (GPYC Nepal) and then that was when my professional days started up. I was a learner but GPYC Nepal opened me with various platforms. From the documentation of the works to survey, i got to know and learn every bit of works. Then what was the most important and excitin thing GPYC provided me with was my radio show ''YOUTH VISION''. It was GPYC who produced it, but the organization gave me full right to co-ordinate it and plan it.
Yes! This is the reason how it all started.
I had ambitions, enthusiasm but i had not a ground to work on. Here , GPYC-Nepal has been a ground for me. This organization was a platform for me to grow and help others to grow. I did Radio Program and then with the help of GPYC Nepal got lucky to form a group GPYC-YOUTH FORUM. From GPYC Youth Forum, we do one strong action every month which benefits our society and its members, got to learn loads of things regarding social responsibility, social work, enhancement of personal and professional skills and techniques. Up to now, we had already done with 5 actions and many more other discussions sessions.
Now, another milestone what is added because of my days and hard work at GPYC- Nepal is my selection on ''Studies of United States Institution on Journalism and New Media''. And for all this step by step stepping stones in my career, I owe a lot to GPYC Nepal, its president Dhruba Prasad Lamichhane, staffs, and GPYC family. We work together, we work for a cause and we grow up together. And yes! This is how we learn, how we learn and grow for better.
So, at last, I encourage everyone to keep updated with GPYC Nepal for the various platforms and opportunities. GPYC Nepal can be a bridge between your 'ambitions' and ''your career''. The organization family will always be with the learner and who has vision to grow up in life. It will open the windows of opportunities and channels.
Hence it was 2012 November, I had formally started my internship at GPYC NEPAL and now its 2014 JUNE (complete 1 and half year) I am still much involved in GPYC Nepal and getting to experience exciting and learning opportunities from being Master of Ceremony, Intern, Speaker, co-ordinator of forum and now a SUSI member (US embassy program).
From my learning days, this organization has always been a part of me and I believe I will be with the organization and working on various good causes for much more long time.
GPYC-Nepal has been my second home and the GPYC-Nepal family has been my extended family. I enjoy so much being here and with all the learning I learnt from this place and with the exciting opportunities of this world I am opened with, I always will be serving my society and working with the people around for the betterment.
Thank you GPYC NEPAL! We Shall Work together to bring the Change.
Yes! WE WILL CHANGE this world for the better!!!!
